Impact in numbers

In 2024, we reached 655,679 unique individuals. We supported 1,362 frontline workers, all trained and equipped to use our biometric technology. Whether in child immunisation efforts in Ghana, primary care delivery in Ethiopia, or toddler vaccine pilots in Bangladesh, we’re proud to support more effective, transparent, and equitable health service delivery.

Cost-effectiveness

At the heart of this impact is a commitment to cost-effective digital innovation. In 2024, we verified over half a million health services, with the cost of our solution as low as 20¢ (USD) per beneficiary, demonstrating that robust digital solutions can be both scalable and affordable.

Top takeaways

  • Verified services at scale: We helped deliver over 551,000 biometrically verified health services, including vaccines, surgeries, and deworming treatments.
  • Improved speed and accuracy: In Ethiopia, biometric identification cut patient service time by over 50%. Facial recognition identified patients in just 57 seconds, while in Ghana, it achieved 98.3% accuracy.
  • Better data and fewer duplicates: In Ethiopia, biometric deduplication reduced duplicate records from 27.8% to 7.2%, supporting accuracy and stronger potential forecasting.
  • Stronger community trust: Through targeted engagement, community acceptance of biometrics in Ethiopia rose from 75% in 2018 to almost 100% in 2024.
  • Cost-effective solutions: Our tech costs per verified service ranged from 3¢ to 43¢ (USD), making biometric verification impactful and affordable.

Impact across borders

In Ethiopia, Operation Sight integrated facial recognition biometrics for patients undergoing trachomatous trichiasis surgery. The result? Faster identification, greater user satisfaction, and improved surgical follow-up, with 100% of frontline workers preferring face biometrics for speed and hygiene.

Meanwhile, in Ghana, we enhanced our collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Gavi to integrate child biometrics in 586 facilities, laying the groundwork for a large-scale Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) on increasing malaria vaccine coverage.

In Bangladesh, we continued our toddler biometric pilot, verifying over 23,000 measles and rubella vaccinations and expanding our research into social protection systems.

Looking ahead

We’re incredibly proud of what our team and partners achieved in 2024, but we’re even more excited about what’s next.

As we work toward building a comprehensive return on investment model and deepening our research through upcoming RCTs, our focus remains clear: to ensure that every vaccine, dollar, and public good reaches the people who need them most.
